In order to successfully remove a nose stud with a flat backing, you must first take the stud out from the inside of your nostril. There are several ways to do this. You can either hold the stud ball in place with tweezers or gently push the stud from the exterior of your nostril. Either way, you will need to twist it slightly in order to release it from the stud post.
Before removing a stud, you should first make sure that you have cleaned the area. This should be done with a mild antiseptic solution. Alternatively, you can use plain soap or hydrogen peroxide. Aside from cleaning the area, you should also lubricate the stud end with oil to make the removal process easier.

Some of them have a disc shaped bottom and some are threaded. You can also buy a hoop nose stud that has a ball attachment. Threaded nose studs are generally harder to remove. These studs have a small pin that holds the stud in place. To take out a threaded stud, you must pull the interior part and the exterior part apart. Holding the stud in place with tweezers can be tricky, though.
One of the easiest ways to remove a threadless nose stud is to simply pull the disc. If you do not have tweezers, you can pull the stud off by hand. Using a gentle touch and a lot of patience, you can get the stud out of your nose.
Another way to remove a nose stud with a threadless flat back is to gently tug the stud off. Pulling on the stud in a jerky manner can cause damage to your nose. Usually, this method will only work if you have dry hands. However, if you do not have dry hands, you can also apply a thin layer of petroleum jelly or saline solution to help soften the area.

Although removing a nose stud can be uncomfortable, it is necessary to do it as soon as you are healed. This way, you will avoid infection and irritation. Also, you can remove the stud while wearing a pair of latex gloves. This will protect your fingers from the skin of your nostrils, which can be easily pulled off by tweezers.
When you are able to remove a nose stud, you can replace it with another style. The best way to do this is to go to a piercing shop. Most piercing shops have trained technicians who can guide you.
